Biology ~ Assistant or Associate Professor

The Department of Biology at Saint Joseph College invites application for a full-time faculty appointment for an Assistant/Associate Professor position starting August 2012 into a thriving department serving a healthcare-focused student body. A record of research and publication (in addition to college and community service) is required for granting of tenure.
Responsibilities include teaching 24-credits each year in our undergraduate level program (lecture and labs) as well as teaching in our on-line graduate program and participating in curriculum development, advising, and working with students on research. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching and the flexibility to teach across the curriculum is desired although a good grounding in anatomy and physiology and genetics based courses is an advantage.
Applicants with a Ph.D. in biology preferred or a closely related field and should also have a strong commitment to personalized instruction. Experience in small class on-line instruction is a plus. Saint Joseph College offers one of the most personalized on-line Masters Degree programs in Biology. Our on-line course size is capped at 15 so a more engaged interaction between students and faculty is possible.
Minimum starting salary is $48,000 for Assistant Professors and $59,000 for Associate Professors dependent upon experience. In addition to health and dental insurance, the benefits package includes a generous 403(b) defined contribution retirement plan.
