Praxis I Prep Course
This review course is an intensive twelve hour program designed to familiarize you with the structure and content of the Praxis Series Reading, Writing, and Math tests before you take them on your road to certification. The program will include detailed instruction and hands-on practice of reading comprehension and multiple-choice test-taking strategies, essay writing strategies, grammar and math review. Sample test preparation materials will also be available to help you prepare for the Praxis Series test. This course will enhance your ability to:
- understand test-taking strategies and time management when taking Praxis tests
- overcome writer’s block; recognize main ideas in paragraphs and short passages
- outline and organize an effective written essay response
- identify high-frequency grammar and punctuation errors
- understand key mathematical concepts such as number sense, problem solving, ratios, equation, geometry and measurement.
Printed handouts of course materials are supplied. Students are encouraged to purchase the ETS Official Praxis I Book prior to the first class. It can be purchased online or in the College bookstore. Tuition does not include the fee for the test.
The Praxis I Prep course runs from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. over two Saturdays.
