Writing Associates Program

Writing Associates are CAE tutors who attend writing intensive classes, read course texts, and confer with faculty to become well versed in course concepts, assignment criteria and faculty expectations. The goal of the program is to create a collaborative learning environment that encourages the development of strong writing skills in all disciplines.

Writing associates will:

  • Meet with students in class, out of class, and online
  • Provide specific, specialized, and focused feedback on course papers
  • Share CAE resources and handouts
  • Collaborate with the instructor to teach in-class workshops or mini-lessons
  • Organize study tables and review sessions for groups of students to review concepts for upcoming tests or papers
  • Aid faculty in syllabi and assignment design
  • Help students prepare strong submissions for the College's portfolio program
