Master of Science in Management

The Master of Science in Management Program is a 36-credit course of study that offers a values-centered approach along with the latest theoretical concepts and their practical applications. This flexible and multi-faceted program is ideal for:

  • Working professionals looking to earn a graduate degree on a part-time basis;
  • Undergraduate students who want to continue their education and earn a Master's degree in as little as one year;
  • Students and professionals with a liberal arts background who want to excel in the field of Management;
  • Students who have earned a Graduate Certificate in one of our Department's Graduate Certificate Programs and wish to continue on to earn their Master's degree. 

Built on the belief that "advanced Management education is an essential component to success in any type of organization - non-profits, government agencies and small or large businesses," the Master of Science in Management offers a solid core curriculum, outstanding faculty, and the personal attention needed to succeed. 

The 36-credit Master of Science in Management requires 24 credits of core courses as follows:

ACCT 505:  Accounting Strategies for Decision Making (4 Credits)

MGMT 501:  Managing and Developing the High Performance Organization (3 Credits)

MGMT 502:  Management Information Technologies (4 Credits)

MGMT 506:  Marketing and Stakeholder Relations (3 Credits)

MGMT 507:  Financial Management for Successful Organizations (4 Credits)

MGMT 508:  Business Decisions and Ethical Dimensions (3 Credits)

MGMT 515:  Strategic Management (Capstone course) (3 Credits)

Total Core Curriculum Course Credits:  24

Management Strategy is an evolving field of study that provides students with the knowledge and skills to: 

  • Develop strategies, engage in strategic planning and establish policy in organizations;
  • Develop and build new and vibrant businesses;
  • Work with and manage various project teams in their chosen industry;
  • Develop the strong organizational management skills needed to function and lead in a complex, multi-level organization;
  • Develop the problem-solving skills needed to overcome the challenges of the multi-level organization.

To complete the Master of Science in Management Degree, students select four elective courses, in consultation with their academic advisor. Students can use their elective courses to earn a graduate certificate in Homeland Security Management or Healthcare Systems Management or personalize their electives to meet their own needs.
