Social Sciences:  Focused on People

The Social Sciences allow students to engage more fully in work that they are passionate about, whether that be in a global business, a community organization, or a law school library.  Students who choose to study in the social sciences learn to balance theory and exploration of special topics with quantitative research and analysis, culminating in a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in the future.

These departments all offer unique and transformative opportunities for students to focus on people, and master the social sciences:

  • International Studies and Programs:  People of Our World
  • Social Work and Latino Community Practice:  People of OUr Communities
  • Human Development and Family Studies:  People of our Families
  • History and Political Science:  People and Their Actions
  • Psychology:  People's Minds and Behaviors

The faculty in all our Social Sciences departments give you personalized attention and help you develop a course of study that meets your interests.  In addition, a group of like-minded fellow students with diverse backgrounds will accompany you.
