Summer Academy students have full access to campus amenities including the Student Activities Center, theMeem Library, and computer lab. With 69,000 inhabitants, Santa Fe is a town steeped in history and culture, both of which Academy students will have the chance to experience. Parents who choose to vacation here will find that Santa Fe offers big-city amenities—world-class hotels, restaurants, opera, and museums as well as a vibrant art market—and clear air and natural beauty.
Four mountain ranges can be seen from the Santa Fe campus. One of these ranges is adjacent to our 250-acre campus; hiking trails that lead directly into the national forest are literally steps away. Many of our dorms and classroom buildings have balconies that offer scenic, panoramic views. While the summer days are warm, our high altitude (St. John’s sits at 7,300 feet) ensures pleasantly cool evenings.
Guided trips during Summer Academy explore our striking landscape and expose students to the opera and Native American and Hispanic history.
Though Santa Fe has a small airport—the Santa Fe Municipal Airport—most visitors find it more convenient to fly into the Albuquerque International Sunport. Transportation from the airport to campus will be provided free of charge for students traveling alone.
