Jennifer Albert ’03: Realizing her Dream

As a medical student studying to be an ophthalmologist, Jennifer Albert '03 is fulfilling her lifelong dream. Since childhood, she knew she wanted to be a doctor. Saint Joseph College's Pre-Med Program helped bring that dream to fruition. The Program's focus on academics, internships, mentoring, and the medical school application process all contributed to Jennifer's success. That, along with her own commitment to excellence, helped make Jennifer who she is today: a student at St. Matthew's University School of Medicine and a future doctor.

"Saint Joseph College was more than a school to me, it was a community; it was where I matured, where I was supported and where I cultivated my interest. As a Pre-Med student, I was allowed to discover the field of medicine. Dr. Dalia Giedrimiene was an amazing professor and mentor. Her expertise in the field of medicine taught me so much. I interned at a pharmaceutical company and at a chiropractor's office. I was guided toward achieving my goal, and at the same time, allowed to pursue what interested me. I use things that Dr. Dalia taught me all the time, especially now with the rigors of medical school. One of her key messages was 'stay focused and stick to your goal.' There is so much from Saint Joseph College that I carry with me."
