Linda Mare ’03: Carving a Career
What began as an internship for Linda Mare '03 in her junior year of study resulted in a career. As an Art History major, Linda was thrilled to intern in the Education department of the prestigious New Britain Museum of American Art. Apparently, the Museum was equally delighted, because as soon as she graduated Linda was offered a full-time position as Coordinator of Tours and School Services. It is a position Linda still holds today, one in which she can share her love of art while inspiring the next generation to appreciate the intrinsic value of art in their lives.
"Saint Joseph College led me to the perfect career. When I began as a first-year student, I was undecided about my major, so decided to try out a variety of courses. Once I walked into Professor Dorothy Keller's Introduction to Art History class, I knew I found the subject I wanted to study. I fell in love with art and was inspired by Professor Keller's knowledge, enthusiasm and devotion. Saint Joseph College helped me create a career in a field I love."
