Hoo-Ching “Judy” Wong ’05: Living a Vision

Growing up in Hong Kong, Hoo-Ching "Judy" Wong '05 always wanted to be a dietician. As a young university student, though, she was placed in a program for business and marketing. When Judy and her family moved to the United States, she was determined to carve out a career in her "field of dreams." Saint Joseph College proved to be the perfect place for Judy - a nurturing environment, caring faculty, strong academics and practical training in her field. Today, Judy thrives in her position as a Clinical Dietician at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Her commitment to the well being of others will serve the greater community for years to come.

"I transferred to Saint Joseph College from a large university in Hong Kong. Everything was new to me and it was a scary time. I was not fluent in English. I could understand the language, but had a difficult time speaking. I couldn't imagine what it was going to be like taking college courses, but the professors at Saint Joseph College were incredible. They gave me so much extra time, working with me in detail to make sure I understood the content. The personal, caring attention I received made all the difference to me. Near the end of my studies, I participated in the Dietetic Internship Program. This was one of the best things about my education. The Internship provided me with the experience needed in the field. It also gave me the confidence to transition from college into the professional world."
