A clinical pharmacist at Yale-New Haven Hospital’s Primary Care Clinic, Dr. Natalie Dearing was drawn to pharmacy education for a specific reason: “Pharmacy education is an evolving and dynamic process. Just as we incorporate evidence-based medicine in clinical settings, I believe we should incorporate evidence-based teaching methodologies in pharmacy education.”
As such, Dr. Dearing encourages growth and exploration in both classroom and experiential settings, always striving to “create an environment that allows students to explore their own knowledge, skills and talents.”
Throughout her teaching, she strives to instill her students’ with a love of lifelong learning, an attribute she models in her own classroom, clinical, and scholarly pursuits: “One of my main goals is to show the importance of being an engaged and active member of a health care team and the health care community at large.”
