Q:   When should I apply?
A:   If you are planning to apply for the fall semester (August), all of your application materials should be received by April 1st. If you are planning to apply for the spring semester (January), all of your application materials should be received by November 1st. Admission to Saint Joseph College is made on a rolling basis; therefore, you can expect a decision shortly after the application is complete.

Q:   What makes my application complete?
A:    A completed application consists of: the application form (paper or online); the $50 application fee (currently waived for online applicants); the official high school transcript; and SAT or ACT scores. First year students are also strongly encouraged to use our supplemental application materials and visit campus for an interview.

Q:   What are the admission criteria?
A:   The Office of Admissions is seeking applicants who display evidence of sufficient ability and potential in their academic record, standardized test scores (SAT or ACT), and supplemental materials. It is expected that successful applicants will have completed 16 academic units in college preparatory courses distributed among English, mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences and foreign languages. Special consideration may be given to selected applicants whose preparation varies from the recommended pattern, but whose record gives evidence of genuine intellectual ability and interest. Applicants offered admission to the fall 2009 class had an average GPA of 3.22 and a median SAT score range of 930-1000 (Critical Reading and Math sections only).

Q:   Is a personal interview required?
A:   A personal interview is not required; however, we strongly encourage all applicants to meet with an admissions counselor during the application process. For an appointment, call 860.231.5216 or toll free 866.442.8752.

Q:   When should I visit campus?
A:   Anytime! Campus tours are given weekdays at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and on selected Saturdays. Open House events are hosted in the fall and spring of each year to provide students and families with a chance to meet faculty and current students in addition to touring our beautiful campus. View our complete schedule of events.
