Schiano honored by GNAC
WEST HARTFORD, Conn., Feb. 26, 2010 -- Saint Joseph College junior Ilaria Schiano (Wallingford, Conn.) was honored for her play during the 2009-10 season by being named Third Team All-GNAC.
Schiano averaged a team-high 18.8 points a game. Her scoring average and season total of 432 points were each the third highest single-season totals in school history. She made 52 three-point baskets, two short of a school record.
Schiano became the fourth player in school history to go over 1,000 career points and reached the milestone Jan. 25 at City College of New York. She scored a career-high 36 points in a season-opening victory over New England College.
