A freak snowstorm. A fearful phone call to a faraway friend. Dreams in the night that actually came true. A 10th anniversary trip to Switzerland. A surprise road sign on the autobahn. A work email about an offshore oil rig. The discovery that European royalty still exist. An important phone call taken in a zoo.

And a direct question posed on a German railway platform by a diminutive Lutheran nun, “Are you the one who started all this trouble?”

Unity through Repentance is the gripping story of God interrupting the lives and plans of an ordinary couple, Thomas & Amy Cogdell, to invite them into the adventure of a lifetime.  Could two lay people, one Catholic and one Protestant, gather all the major Christian traditions in Wittenberg on the 500th anniversary of the Reformation?

This book answers that question in a surprisingly quick read.  In the midst of astonishing miracles and charismatic characters, Cogdell also offers insight in themes of leadership, spiritual formation, and conflict resolution. Each chapter ends with a QR code that leads to a website with bonus material—videos, full-color photos, audio recordings, and extra stories that were edited out of the final manuscript.
