6 Sat., Bus Trip to New York City - Here is your chance to see Rockefeller Center, Times Square and Central Park decked out in the Christmas spirit! Get a head start on your holiday shopping at the trendy boutiques in Soho or along Madison Avenue; catch a Broadway show and enjoy the fabulous food of the city! Open to Saint Joseph College students first; seats that remain will be open to guests, faculty and staff. Cost is $10.00 for students; $20.00 for guests, faculty and staff. Space is limited; sign up in the Student Activities Office in McGovern Hall to purchase your ticket and reserve your seat on the bus. The bus will depart at 10:00 a.m. from the back of McDonough Hall. 7 Sun., Festival of Lights - Saint Joseph College will host its annual Festival of Lights, an ecumenical celebration of the season of Advent. The Festival will take place on Sunday, December 7 at 4:00 p.m. in The Connor Chapel of Our Lady; this program is free of charge and the general public is cordially invited to attend. A combination of Scripture, music, liturgical dance and prayer, the Festival of Lights features the Saint Joseph College Combined Choirs and Instrumental Ensemble, under the direction of Michael-Thomas Gilman, M.M., and the Saint Joseph College Dance Ensemble, directed by Susan Murphy, M.A. During the Festival, the congregation will participate in a traditional candle-lighting ceremony, recognizing the community's spiritual joy and hope for the upcoming holiday season.
