Caritas Society of St. John's College

Caritas Society members promote relationships between St. John's College and the larger Annapolis community while raising financial aid funds for St. John's students who cannot meet college expenses. Caritas members and invited guests gather for luncheon meetings featuring various presentations (reservations required). Fundraisers and other special events are open to the public. August 8 — Summer Social
Members and guests enjoy a lazy summer evening watching the sunset on College Creek. Bring an edible or potable to share. Fun, food, and entertainment. Hodson Boat House, 5 to 7 p.m.

September 11 — Annual Membership Tea
Kick-off of the Caritas Society’s 45th year. Members are encouraged to bring friends who would enjoy being part of the Caritas family. Home of St. John’s President Christopher Nelson, 3 to 5 p.m.

September 21 — Annual Student Ice Cream Social
Caritas welcomes students to the campus for the 2014-15 academic year. Ice cream provided by Annapolis Ice Cream Company. Francis Scott Key Lobby. 3 to 5 p.m.

October 7 — Killarney House Dinner
Enjoy a fun evening meal with Caritas friends. Restaurant will donate $10 of meal cost to Caritas. Killarney House Restaurant in Davidsonville. 5 to 9 p.m. Reservations: $25.

October 16 - Luncheon Meeting and Program
Social hour, luncheon, and program. Presentation by Steve Gunn, Editor, Capital Gazette Newspapers: “The Capital: Our Hometown Newspaper.” From 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Francis Scott Key Lobby. Reservations required: $25.


November 9 — Meet the Authors Fundraiser

Panel includes Ruth Kassinger, Steve Vogel, and St. John’s alumna Barbara Rogan. Reception and book signing. Francis Scott Key Auditorium. 3 p.m. Tickets $35 in advance, $40 at the door. Click here to read more about this event.
