Eighth Annual Keefe-Bruyette Symposium on Early Learning in Math and Science on Monday, March 15, 2010

SJC's School for Young Children will host its eighth annual Keefe-Bruyette Symposium on Early Learning in Math and Science on March 15. The keynote talk, "The Ecology of Hope: Reconnecting Children and Nature" will be presented by Cheryl Charles, Ph.D.

Project 35 Opens at the Saint Joseph College Art Gallery

Project 35 is an evolving exhibition of video works selected by 35 international curators; Part I will be on view from Feb. 18 - May 9, 2010.

The Duquesne University Tamburitzans at SJC on Saturday, Feb. 20

Returning for their annual visit with a brand new and spectacular show, the Duquesne University Tamburitzans will appear in their only Connecticut performance at The Bruyette Athenaeum's Hoffman Auditorium on Saturday, February 20 at 3:00 p.m.

Girls and Women in Sports Celebration at SJC

The Saint Joseph College Athletics Department will host two community events, on February 14 and 20, in celebration of the 24th Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

The Gospel Festival of New England on Friday, Jan. 22

Saint Joseph College will present The Gospel Festival of New England as part of The Bruyette Athenaeum Performing Arts Series on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hoffman Auditorium on the College's West Hartford campus.

Saint Joseph College Celebrates Festival of Lights on December 6

On Sunday, December 6, Saint Joseph College will host its annual Festival of Lights, an ecumenical celebration of the season of Advent. The Festival will begin at 4:00 p.m. in The Connor Chapel of Our Lady.

Steinway Artist, Ann Sweeten to Perform

Join us for a musical and artistic afternoon with Steinway pianist Ann Sweeten, who will bring her signature sound to The Bruyette Athenaeum's Hoffman Auditorium on Saint Joseph College's West Hartford campus on Sunday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m.

2009 Nightingale Lecture Features Award-Winning Journalist Suzanne Gordon on Nov. 23

The Saint Joseph College Department of Nursing in collaboration with The Honor Society of Nursing - Sigma Theta Tau International (Iota Upsilon Chapter at large) will present the Nightingale Lecture on Nov. 23 at 7:00 p.m. featuring Suzanne Gordon, award-winning journalist and author. Her lecture is entitled, "Chicken Soup Isn't Enough: Strategies to Advance Professional Needs and Quality Patient Care."

Queenes Companye presents Sophie Treadwell's Machinal

Saint Joseph College's Queenes Companye and the University of Hartford's University Players present Sophie Treadwell's play, Machinal. Performances will take place on both campuses running from Nov. 12 - 21.

Saint Joseph College's Department of Religious Studies will present the 2009 - 2010 Buckley Lecture Series featuring activist and author Binka Le Breton, who will discuss her latest book, The Greatest Gift: The Courageous Life and Martyrdom of Sister Dorothy Stang on Monday, October 26 at 4:00 p.m. in the Crystal Room located in Mercy Hall on the College's West Hartford campus.

35th Annual Lewis Lecture: The Science Behind Chantix featuring Jotham Coe, Ph.D.

The 35th Annual Lewis Lecture, sponsored by the Department of Chemistry, will feature Dr. Jotham Coe, who will discuss "The Science Behind Chantix," a prescription medicine to help adults age 18 and over stop smoking. The lecture will take place on Tuesday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Crystal Room located in Mercy Hall. Admission is free of charge and the event is open to the community.

The Seventh Annual 5 x 5 Dance Festival - October 23 and 24

Featuring the largest-ever expanded program of 17 collegiate and professional troupes, Saint Joseph College's Seventh Annual 5 x 5 Dance Festival will also offer master classes along with an opportunity to view an exquisite display of dance photography by Arthur Fink.

Blackfriars Stage Company's Romeo and Juliet on October 19

"Passion lends them power ..." The American Shakespeare Center's touring company returns to Saint Joseph College this fall with the Blackfriars Stage Company's production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Join us on Monday, October 19 at 10:00 a.m. in The Bruyette Athenaeum's Hoffman Auditorium.
