Returning students must submit the FAFSA by March 1 to be considered for need-based grants, loans, and work opportunities.
NOTE: Make sure to check your St. John’s College email often, as the primary means of communication from the Financial Aid Office is through e-mail.
Step 1 – Complete FAFSA
File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The federal code for Annapolis is 002092 and Santa Fe is 002093. You can file a renewal FAFSA if you have your federal PIN. You can retrieve your PIN online at www.pin.ed.gov.
Step 2 – Give supporting documentation to the Financial Aid
Once the Financial Aid Office has received your FAFSA, we will notify you of any supporting documentation we need. Examples of the additional information we may need are copies of parents' and student's 2013 federal income tax return or transcript (transcript must be requested from the IRS), W-2 forms, partnership and corporate returns are when applicable. To send these documents, you can e-mail, fax, or send by mail to the Financial Aid Office.
Step 3 - Maryland State Grants
Maryland Residents: The FAFSA must be submitted prior to March 1. Maryland has very strict deadlines, and failure to meet their deadline will result in a loss of state grant assistance. This will not be made up with institutional grant money. Residents from the states of NM, PA, RI and VT should file the FAFSA by March 1st in order to be considered for a state sponsored grant.
Policy Regarding the Integrity of Information
If the Financial Aid Committee has reason to believe that a family has misrepresented their financial circumstances, the student may be disqualified from receiving institutional funding.
