Suggested Ways to Use PowerPoint

Create a descriptive list of 10 specific ideas for using PowerPoint in the classroom. This write-up will be placed on your website for other teachers to use as a resource. Omit the obvious, for example, Parents’ Nights. Your readers will be interested in new and fresh ideas to enrich their teaching. Make your suggestions specific to the grade level and discipline you teach or will be certified to teach. You can include hyperlinks to PowerPoint samples of your ideas.

Be sure your descriptions are clear and your work is neatly formatted for ease of use. Use a descriptive label for each idea and describe it in sufficient depth so another teacher can readily follow along and implement your suggestion. For example, you might consider using PP to have students review information on the planets in the solar system and indicate that each slide about a planet with give three specific pieces of information and include one relevant picture.

Analyze prior EDUC 570 students’ approaches to this assignment to understand that well-done descriptions will be specific enough to guide another teacher. Have your own work peer reviewed by others in our class. Plan on revising and editing your descriptions based on feedback. You must have at least 10 suggestions.

How Specific PowerPoint Can Be Used

Also, prepare a short explanation of how the PowerPoint that you created and placed on your website can be used. The explanation needs to clarify how the PowerPoint can be incorporated in the classroom setting. Thus, those who view your PowerPoint on the Internet will know how the specific presentation may be used in teaching and with students.
