This Is Your Life!

Introduction

Hollywood High is an interactive software program that engages students in a variety of writing skills.  This lesson plan is design to be used by individual students (grades 9-12) in a computer lab.  Pervious lessons have focused on human development.  Students will create a story based upon an experience that encouraged some kind of positive developmental growth in their own lives.   Before using the software program a demonstration will be done by the teacher using an LCD projector. Handouts will be provided to the student containing an overview of how the program works.  The teacher will also circulate around the room to help if problems arise.  This lesson should take 3 class periods.

Objective

Students will be able to:

ü       Write dialogue about an important life event.

ü       Present their story to class and describe how this event helped in their development.

ü       Explain different stages of human development as it pertains to their own life.

ü       Use computer skills.
