Saint Joseph College recently presented the seventh season of its Arts Integration and Multiple Intelligences Program (AIMI) culminating with Storytelling Around the World in The Bruyette Athenaeum's Hoffman Auditorium. This spirited dance performance included original choreography, colorful costumes and scenery that depicted tales and fables reaching across cultures. Pictured here in row one (left to right): Janae Callender of East Hartford and Tazmen Vernon of Hartford; row two (left to right): Vickie Milledge of Hartford, Camille Smith of Middletown, Kristen Karoll of Berlin, and Brianna Brewer of West Hartford.
The performance was directed and choreographed by Kay Gayner of the National Dance Institute (NDI) in New York City along with Oscar and Emmy Award winner Jacques d'Amboise H'03 who serves as artist-in-residence. AIMI is unmatched by other summer arts opportunities in combining both instruction and show preparation within a short time frame; 40 children and 10 Saint Joseph College graduate students participated in the program.
