Autism Summer Institute at Saint Joseph College from August 3 - 6
Saint Joseph College is currently offering an Autism Summer Institute. This four-day program is designed to provide parents, educators and professionals with an introduction to autism spectrum disorders and education/intervention strategies. Over 100 attendees are taking part in this week's summer institute. It will help caregivers and teachers understand the educational needs of children with autism and will improve dialogue between teachers and parents.

Through keynote addresses and break-out sessions, attendees will actively participate in discussions that will help them implement strategies, thus enabling the children with whom they work to have the fullest and most inclusive educational experiences possible. Topics include: assessment, curriculum strategies, social skills interventions, and addressing challenging behaviors. Featured speakers at the institute will link theory to effective practice:
