Senators Dodd and Lieberman Announce Major Federal Investments for Connecticut Projects – Including Saint Joseph College’s Institute for Autism and Behavioral Studies
Last week, the Senate Appropriations Committee marked up the Labor-HHS-Education FY11 appropriations bill, which included $500,000 for Saint Joseph College's new Institute for Autism and Behavioral Studies (IABS). During a difficult year for the appropriations process, Senator Dodd strongly advocated within the Committee for every possible dollar to support Connecticut and its citizens. As a result, the IABS has become one of eight special projects in the state that were funded in the bill.
In the upcoming months, the appropriations bill will go to the full Senate for approval; then negotiated with the House. For full passage, it must be signed into law by President Obama.
