Saint Joseph College Launches New Web Site
Saint Joseph College launched its new Web site geared to external audiences on Monday, June 29. The new Web architecture, defined by Stamats, is based on best practices in higher education, and incorporates the findings of the research conducted with staff, faculty, current students and prospective students.
The new site heralds a shift in the way the College presents information to a key audience - the prospective student. As a result, the architecture, color palette, font, graphics and design templates reflect this initiative.
A Note for Faculty and Staff
To support the new SJC Web site, a new content management system (OUCampus) offered by OmniUpdate has been implemented. This new content management system represents a change in the way content will be managed, updated, and published. Each department will be responsible for their own content on the Web site. Kathie Kentfield, as the Web site coordinator, will continue to monitor the Web site, however, she will no longer be responsible for uploading content to the Web site. For individuals designated as "users, approvers, and publishers," additional training classes will be offered in July, August and September. One of the more popular questions posed by members of the SJC community since the launch: How do I access my SJC e-mail account when I am off-campus? Again, keep in mind that the new www.sjc.edu Web site is intended for external audiences. To access e-mail, Blackboard or Ceridian information, you will need to use SJC's intranet site: simply click on the MySJC link, located in the upper right corner of the SJC home page. If you would prefer to make MySJC your home page that appears when you first open your browser, simply point your browser's homepage to https://my.sjc.edu/ics/ or call the IT Help Desk at 860.231.5310 for assistance.
