Steven Caron
Mr. Caron is the Director of Public Safety at Saint Joseph College. Mr. Caron has 28 years of experience in law enforcement and emergency planning. Mr. Caron retired as a police lieutenant from the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services in May of 2003. Mr., Caron spent two years as the Emergency Response Coordinator for the Manchester Health Department. He was responsible for emergency response planning in the areas of bioterrorism mitigation, public health emergencies, health alert networks development, incident command training, unified command training and coordinating regional drills and exercises.
Mr. Caron was hired by Saint Joseph College in May of 2006. He is responsible for the management of the Public Safety Department. Mr. Caron is also responsible for emergency planning, drills and exercises, risk mitigation, workers compensation administration, insurance risk coordination, fleet management at the College and chair of the risk committee. Regionally he is the Chair of the Regional Emergency Support Function 21 Collegiate Services, DEMHS Region 3. He also serves with the Connecticut Incident Management DEMHS Region 3 Command Staff as their Public Information Officer.
Mr. Caron received his undergraduate education at the University of New Haven located in West Haven Connecticut. He received his bachelor’s degree in law enforcement. He graduated Magna Cum Laude.
