Information for People with Disabilities or Special Needs

Parking for People with Disabilities or Special Needs

For those who have state handicap parking permits, handicap parking spaces will be available in the Pope Pius XII Library Parking Lot which is accessible by the Service Road entrance. Only persons with handicap tags or prior approval will be allowed to park in this area. Those persons without state handicap parking permits and who are in need of accessible parking must call the ADA Coordinator at 860.231.5428. The ADA Coordinator will mail a reserved parking sign (to be hung from the front mirror for easy visibility). Cars will be directed to reserved parking areas on Commencement day.

Seating for People with Disabilities or Special Needs

There will be special reserved seating under the Commencement tent for family members and guests who have a disability or special need for assistance. Ushers are available to seat you in this reserved area. Although individual seats will not be reserved by name, there will be a large section reserved with sufficient seating for the person with a disability and three others. In order for us to assure sufficient availability of these seats and/or parking, we ask that you reserve through the ADA Coordinator in the Health and Counseling Office at 860.231.5530. Please call during office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., by May 3, 2010 to confirm the number of seats and parking spaces needed in these reserved areas.
