Alternative Break Experiences
The alternative break experience offers students week-long or weekend opportunity for service and reflection during semester breaks. The objectives of the program are to involve the students in community-based agencies/programs and to give them opportunities to learn about issues/problems faced by the people served by the agencies/programs.
Examples of break experiences students have been involved with include working on an Indian reservation in northern Maine; building homes, farm work, working in a food pantry and shelter in rural Maine, Katrina Relief and Habitat for Humanity.
