Service Opportunities at Saint Joseph College

Community service is a vital aspect of Saint Joseph College's mission and practice. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1932, the College has always adhered to the Mercy ideal of compassionate service.

Opportunities to participate in community service are plentiful. Each of the 28 student clubs and organizations hosts a service project every year. The First-Year Seminar and Service Learning are just a few examples of curricular programs that require student participation in community service. College-sponsored events like Relay for Life and Mercy Week celebrate the community's spirited response to society's needs.

If, like so many of us, you want to participate in service but worry about scheduling, convenience, etc., we hope this page will be useful. Its purpose it to provide up-to-date information on community service projects in the hopes of matching the desire to participate with the ability to do so. The projects listed here are all affiliated with Saint Joseph College.

Are you part of a College-affiliated community service project? If so, please send your information to Sydney Lake at slake@sjc.edu to be listed in the next issue of the Community Service Newsletter.
