Selecting a Major
The staff of the Career Development Center can assist you in developing an understanding of your interests, skills and values in relation to choosing a major. Various programs are offered throughout the academic year to provide you the opportunity to investigate and discuss possible majors with faculty members from each department, academic advisers, as well as the career counseling center staff. Looking for a Nursing or Health Care job?
Workshops & Information Sessions
The CareerTraC Workshop Series provide valuable tips on conducting a job search, writing your résumé and cover letters, developing interviewing skills and getting into graduate school. Information sessions address participation in and preparation for the on-campus recruiting events, the Mock Interview Program and the Hartford Consortium Career Fair.
Jung Typology Test
The Jung Typology Test is very similar to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). After completing the questionnaire, you will obtain:
- Your personality type according to Carl Jung and Isabel Briggs Myers typology along with your personality strengths of the preferences.
- A description of your personality type.
- A list of occupations and careers fitting for your personality type.

Student Employment on Campus
Student employment on campus can be the first step in gaining valuable work experience. Student employment opportunities exist in a variety of offices on campus. Student Employment off-Campus
Student employment off-campus includes job posting for babysitters, tutors, or caregivers in the Hartford area. Flyers for these jobs are posted on the Student Center bulletin board in McGovern Hall (across from the Book Store, near the Jay's Nest). Postings remain up for 6 weeks and can be re-posted.
