The Career Development Center is offering 90 minute workshops and more to all SJC students with the focus on taking charge of your future. There will be 6 separate CareerTraC workshops in all, covering what you need to do to stand out. Completion of the series will earn an Achievement Certificate that can be added to your resume for professional polish. All CareerTraC Series workshops are free of charge.

Job VS. Career: Are you making the right choices?
If you see a lot of dollar signs in your future then you need a career not a job. This workshop focuses on career and education choices and skills that affect income. Students will learn the difference between a job and a career while analyzing unemployment, income and education graphs.

13, Mon., Challenge Two! - Student Loans
6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. McGovern Lounge
Students will understand the various types of financial aid packages available as well as the cost benefit with student loans. Students will also understand the process behind deciding to choose a student loan.

22, Thurs., Challenge Three! - What's My Number: Credit 101

Looking to buy a new car? Maybe own a house one day? Having good credit is crucial in today’s economy. Learn to become “Credit Savvy” and save yourself from the future embarrassment of bad credit.

27, Mon., Challenge Four! - Budgeting for College Students 
6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. McGovern Lounge
Where did all my money go?! If this is a question you ask yourself a lot then come learn the necessary steps to develop and maintain a budget that is perfect for you. Students will create a sample budget and understand the concept of budgeting and how it plays a vital role in obtaining financial goals and independence.

This workshop will teach you how to create a resume tht stands out!  It will cover results oriented resumes that will get you interviews

Are you sending the right message even when your not speaking? Learn great impression tips on how to handle difficult interviews and questions while maintaining poise and confidence.  Body language and personal skills are a must learn!

10 Tues., CareerTraC Series - Career Mapping

Know where the jobs are and how to find them.  This workshop will show you the secrets of finding the "hidden" jobs and best and least effective strategies in the mapping of your career.

17 Tues., CareerTraC Series - Negotiation Know How

Now is the best time to develop an understanding of negotiation techniques. Learn how to determine the value of your skills and the information you need to make an informed decision.

24 Tues., CareerTraC Series - Financial Freedom

School loans eventually become due. Learn how to eliminate those loans and other debt from a Certified Financial Planner. Take control of your finance now and learn how to manage it in the future.

9-27, Teacher Recruitment Program 
Saint Joseph College's annual Teacher Recruitment program will be held April 9-27, 2012. Eligible Education students and alumnae/i may participate in one-on-one on-campus interviews.
