Classroom Technologies
The Academic Technology staff provide support and leadership for classroom technology and instructional design. Our Media Center has a wide variety of audio visual equipment and provides production support for events as well as for projects such as video and sound recordings, photography, image scanning, and laminations. Our Network Center houses computer classrooms, a faculty project development site and the main computer lab.
On-Campus Academic Spaces
Classroom, library, and social spaces include a complement of equipment for presentations, interaction, and wired and wireless network communications and collaboration. An exciting addition to a growing number of classrooms on campus is the Smart Board, an interactive whiteboard and computer touch-screen.
All users have a personal virtual hard drive on the college network. This individual storage space allows faculty and students to save their respective files from one computer and access them from another.
At over 100 computers in our Network Center, Library, Student Center, and classrooms, the college provides an extensive array of course required software. All computers in the Network Center have Microsoft Office installed, as well as a printer in each computer lab. Additionally, wired and wireless network access throughout our buildings put resources within easy reach for students using their own computers.
Online Academic Spaces
Saint Joseph College classes take advantage of the Blackboard learning management system, allowing for discussion boards, podcasts, virtual classrooms, shared network whiteboard spaces, and online gradebooks.
