Creative Writing

If you adore the written word and prefer a great novel to television; or if you simply want to communicate more clearly, effectively and creatively through your writing – welcome to the our writing workshop!

Students work in small, intensive classes to exchange ideas, engage in discussions, and write! This is perfect for aspiring writers of all ages and skill levels. Our knowledgeable instructors guide the workshop and work with each student to improve and expand her writing on an individual level.

Sessions focus on communicating effectively and confidently, bringing imagination and structure to stories, and protocols for writing online. While the teachers tailor the curriculum for the needs of the class, this program covers some key areas. In a review of mechanics, we cover critical grammatical conventions such as verb forms, pronoun agreement and punctuation.

We focus on journaling as the best tool for writing and growth. Through creative and fiction writing, students work on outline, plot, setting, character development, word choice, revision, and editing. They incorporate point-of-view, dialogue, scene structure, and narrative voice. Above all they develop their own style with confidence.
