Leadership
All girls at Summer Circles benefit from our leadership sessions. Designed specifically for teen girls, the sessions boost girls in exploring their leadership potential through skill building, journal writing, and adventure education experiences. Students work in teams to identify core leadership skills, detect those skills in themselves and others, and practice leadership within the context of a team. Whether through reflection and journal writing or while engaged in outdoor experiences, these activities help students find their leadership path and build their leadership potential.
We integrate a variety of topics including self awareness, goal setting, trust building, group problem solving, conflict resolution, and critical reflection. Through cooperative games and activities (including the use of both low and high ropes challenge courses) students get to know themselves and others and develop effective communication techniques.
Students keep a leadership journal in which they develop, step-by-step, their own Personal Leadership Plan. These unique sessions help students build self awareness and leadership capability while charting a path to college and beyond.
