The Annual 5 X 5 Dance Festival

The Carol Autorino Center of the Arts and Humanities at Saint Joseph College celebrates the ninth anniversary of the 5x5 Dance Festival, October 21-22, 2011. One of the state's most important dance events, the festival features interaction between professional and collegiate dancers. Performances and master classes will be held at the Center's Bruyette Athenaeum in West Hartford, Connecticut.

Professional choreographers/company's and college dance departments interested in participating in the festival must submit an online application and a DVD of the performance piece presenting. College dance departments must include the application fee of $100.00 plus a DVD of the performance piece to the college. Applications and DVD's are due by July 30 and dance departments selected will be notified by August 15.

Full participation of the dance festival is required per contract for all selected professionals. Festival includes: two performances, meet and greet dinner and master classes. Both evening performances begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the Frances Driscoll Box Office (860.231.5555):

The two-show discount is only available for tickets purchased in advance, not the day of the show. Ticket prices day of show increase $5/ticket. To purchase tickets online: tickets.sjc.edu by August 5, 2011 or call the box office at 860-231-5555 Monday-Friday 10:00-2:00.

Master classes will be offered for dance students and the community on Saturday, October 22. Classes will be held from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the Bruyette Athenaeum. Classes will feature master teachers from the five presenting dance companies in Saturday's performance. Master classes are $15.00 per class. Package Deal: Three master classes $40.00 with FREE t-shirt. Master class schedule to be announced.
