Health Services

The on-campus Student Health Office helps students achieve their optimal health and wellness while they are students at St. John’s. Primary care services are available to all currently enrolled students, and the clinic is open at various times during the week to accommodate student schedules. Health office visits are free of charge and same day walk in appointments are always available.

We care for acute and chronic health conditions and monitor and manage medications when needed. We work closely with a local psychiatrist and two on-campus psychotherapists to address mental and behavioral health issues.

Health Insurance Requirements and Information

United States Citizens

United States federal law requires all citizens to be covered by health insurance. At St. John’s, we require you to provide proof of your health insurance coverage to the Student Health Office. If you already have health insurance, you will need to submit your policy information via a web portal administered by our insurance broker, RCMD. Go to the web portal.

If you are not yet enrolled in health insurance and would like to do so, you can enroll via the New Mexico Health Exchange. In consultation with our insurance broker, Tim Cummons, we recommend enrolling in one of the plans administered by New Mexico Health Connections. Once you have enrolled in an insurance plan, you will need to submit your policy information via the web portal administered by our insurance broker, RCMD. Submit your policy information.

International Students

The college also requires all international students to provide proof of adequate health insurance or they will be enrolled with a plan called HTH Worldwide. All international students will also need to submit proof of coverage through the RCMD web portal. In order to assist with the enrollment in HTH Worldwide and to ensure proper registration with the web portal, all international students need to contact our insurance representative Tim Cummons, at 410-583-5452, toll-free at 800-346-4075 ext. 1452, or at tcummons@rcmd.com.

All Students

The Student Health Office will see you for health care services under any insurance plan. Please bring your insurance card with you each time you have an appointment with one of the health care providers. If applicable, we will file claims with your health insurance for your visits with us. We do not collect co-pays or deductibles, so you personally will not incur out-of-pocket charges for a health office visit.

Students are responsible for understanding their insurance coverage for services provided at the health center as well as services provided off site.

If you have questions about your health care options or how to use the web link registry, please contact Tim Cummons, our insurance representative, at 410-583-5452, toll-free at 800-346-4075 ext. 1452, or at tcummons@rcmd.com.
