Join Larry Ham and local musicians John Trentacosta and Mike Olivola for an evening of jazz. Larry Ham is an internationally recognized jazz pianist and is traveling in the U.S. on a spring tour. He will be performing with Mike Olivola on upright bass and John Trentacosta on drums, presenting a program of classic mainstream jazz music and some of Larry's own unique compositions. Ham has made guest appearances with Trentacosta’s jazz group, Straight Up, which includes Olivola, among other Santa Fe musicians.
Pianist, composter, and arranger Larry Ham has long been a noted New York jazz musician: performing, touring, and recording with many of today’s jazz greats. He is now gaining new recognition as an emerging artist, with the 2007 release of his debut CD, “Carousel,” which features his own compositions and arrangements, and a 2008 solo piano CD, “Just Me, Just You.” Ham has worked with a number of jazz bands, including the Lionel Hampton Orchestra and the Illinois Jacquet Big Band, as well as countless jazz legends, including Junior Cook. He has appeared at jazz festivals, concerts, and nightclubs throughout the U.S. and in Europe, West Africa, India, and Japan. Lam also has performed twice at the White House.
