Intramural Athletics

St. John’s highly-organized and much-beloved intramural program, for both men and women, is a mainstay of the college's extracurricular life in Annapolis. Regardless of skill level, students are able to discover (or re-discover) the joy of amateur athletics in a welcoming setting. Participants emphasize teamwork, exercise, and friendly competition, not rankings. Every St. John's College student, faculty, and staff member is automatically allocated by name to one of five long-standing intramural teams (though participation is completely voluntary). Will you be a Druid, Greenwave, Guardian, Hustler, or Spartan? Come and see!

The intramural schedule includes team competition in soccer, flag football, basketball, and team handball, as well as individual tournaments in tennis and table tennis. Alumni, siblings, faculty, staff, and even parents may participate. Students and faculty also pursue interests in clubs outside of the intramural program in areas such as aikido, karate, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, weight training, boxing, tai chi, dance, and Pilates.
