Musical Offerings at Saint Joseph College

A variety of substantive course offerings in music are described in the Undergraduate Course Catalog  (PDF: 168pp., 1M). These include history, literature and theory as well as a diverse array of applied music courses. A minor in music is also an option and the requirements are listed in the catalogue.

The goal of music study at Saint Joseph College is to augment the liberal arts education with an opportunity for both classroom and performance experiences in the musical arts. Many courses meet General Education and Writing requirements, and all will contribute a greater understanding of cultures, both past and present, through the arts.

Vocal and instrumental ensembles perform both on and off campus and enable the development of interpersonal skills through group activities and projects. All academic and applied music is contained in the scope of the Fine and Performing Arts Department.

Private instruction is offered in voice, piano, guitar, and performance ensembles include the Saint Joseph College Choir and Instrumental Ensemble.
