Saint Joseph College Pope Pius XII Library

Reserves

Both traditional and online course reserves are available from the library.

Student Information

Traditional reserves are available at the lobby circulation desk. Check the "Faculty Reserves" notebooks to find the reserve item you need. The library staff will assist you. A Saint Joseph College student identification card is necessary to use reserve material.

Some reserve items must be used in the building. Others are assigned by faculty to the following categories:

Students may borrow one circulating reserve item to remove from the library. There is a minimum $2.00 fine for removing reserve items without authorization.

Please note that using a reserve is not always confidential circulation transaction.

Faculty Information

Please give the library three to five days to process reserve materials. Reserve materials are processed in the order in which they are received.

Materials from other libraries may not be placed on reserve. However, the library will attempt to purchase the required item.

The library allows you to authorize your class reserves as extended loans. Please provide your student with a written note for the library staff under this special circumstance.

ELECTRONIC RESERVES

Electronic reserves are an easy, efficient way to use the library's reserve system. We can scan printed materials, including book chapters or articles. We can also post items that are already in a PDF and make them accessible to your students either on or off campus. Please contact Elizabeth Lesso, the Access Services Coordinator by e-mail or phone at 860.231.5586 if you are interested in electronic reserves.
