Dance
The Dance Department at Saint Joseph College provides a student the opportunity to create a self-designed dance minor under the advisement of Susan Murphy. The dance department offers a variety of performances, master-classes and internship opportunities annually. Each summer the dance students have the opportunity to work with The National Dance Institute and world-famous dancer and teacher Jacques d'Amboise through a nationally accredited summer dance pedagogy program focusing on teaching the arts through the multiple intelligence theory. The dance students host diverse teaching and performing artists from around the world at the Carol Autorino Center. Annually, the dance ensemble hosts the 5x5 Dance Festival featuring choreography from college dance departments state-wide and area professionals.
A Dance Minor is available to students which consists of 18 credits in Dance (see individual course offerings in the catalog (PDF: 168pp., 1M). The minor consists of participation in the Saint Joseph College Dance Ensemble.
