Ivan Edafiogho, Ph.D., Pharm.D, R.Ph.

Dr. Ivan Edafiogho is Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Chair of Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Saint Joseph College School of Pharmacy. Dr. Ivan Edafiogho earned a B.S. in Pharmacy from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria in 1975; a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry fromUniversity of Bradford, United Kingdom. in 1985; and a Pharm.D. from Howard University, Washington DC in 2007. Dr. Edafiogho has held faculty and research appointments at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria from 1990-1991, at Howard University from 1991-1998, and at Kuwait University from 1999 through 2010, where he was Chair of his department from 2002-2006 and Vice Dean of Academic Affairs during 2006-2007.

Dr. Edafiogho is well accomplished in research where his main interests have been in the design, synthesis, and development of new anticonvulsant, antiasthmatic, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and antitussive agents. He is co-inventor on three US Patents and co-inventor on two additional US Patent Applications. In 2010, he won the highest research grant at the Faculty of Pharmacy (FOP) at Kuwait University, worth over a quarter million US dollars. His publications include a book in pharmaceutical calculations, two chapters in reference books, and over 50 articles in refereed journals. Dr. Edafiogho is a registered pharmacist in both Maryland and the District of Columbia.
