Transfer Nutrition Information

Applications are currently being accepted for the spring semester, with classes beginning in January. Apply online today.

Interested in a career in Nutrition?  Apply as a transfer or second bachelor's degree student into our Dietetics and Nutrition program!  We have provided the following tools to help you get started:

  1. Our Nutrition Information Packet (PDF: 5pp., 138K) was specifically designed to help ease the application process for you.  Read through this for the answers to many of your questions and information on how to apply.

  2. Visit campus!  We have several open houses throughout the year designed for transfer and second bachelor's degree students. Meet with admissions, advising and financial aid, and find out about transfer credits. Start by attending an Information Session for Transfer Students on Wednesday, March 14. Scholarships of up to $11,000 per year are available for full-time Women's College transfer students!  Matriculated students may also apply for financial aid

Why major in Nutrition and Dietetics at Saint Joseph College?

A vast array of career opportunities. Nutritionists and dietitians are employed in clinical environments such as hospitals, health care centers, nursing homes, outpatient facilities, community facilities, industry, food service, hotels, doctors’ offices, corporate wellness programs, etc.

We educate the whole person. Nutritionists and dietitians require a broad skill set. In addition to technical knowledge, you must have excellent speaking and presentation skills. Our Core Liberal Arts Curriculum prepares you to be a well-rounded and broadly educated professional, giving you an added advantage in the workplace.

You’ll earn a minor to strengthen your career options. All nutrition and dietetics majors will earn a minor in biology.

The Saint Joseph College nutrition and dietetics program is accredited by the American Dietetic Association. This is the organization responsible for administering the Registered Dietitian exam.

Hands-on experience in a nutrition setting. Opportunities for hands-on experience are available at a variety of nutrition related settings in clinical and community settings in Connecticut, as well as at numerous public and private health and education facilities.
