St. John’s College Celebrates Three Centuries of Silver in Annapolis

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Mitchell Gallery at St. John’s College, the community is invited to the special event “Three Centuries of Silver in Annapolis: Creating, Collecting, Cherishing.”  Participants will explore the integral role that silver objects played in the history of our city, state, and nation—from the colonial era to American naval ships at sea.

St. John’s College Claims Victory at the 33rd Annual Annapolis Cup

Before a crowd of approximately 5,000 spectators on the St. John’s College campus, the St. John’s croquet team reclaimed the Annapolis Cup on Saturday, April 18, besting the U.S. Naval Academy with a 3-2 victory. Thwarting a potential third consecutive victory for the Midshipmen, bringing home the trophy had special meaning for the Johnnies. “It’s about becoming the best again,” says St. John’s Imperial Wicket Samuel Collins, a senior from Bucks County, Pa. who led his team to its 26th win since the contest began 33 years ago.
