St Johns College Santa Fe Students Outside Talking

Dear graduates and families:

Over the past two months, our lives have been upended in so many ways. This is an especially trying time for you—our graduates and families—who have had to forgo important traditions and milestones, including the loss of an in-person Commencement. This is not how any of us wanted our students to end their academic journey at St. John’s College.

I want to express my appreciation to you for your resilience, compassion, and support of one another during these difficult times. You not only completed one of the most rigorous programs in the world, but you did so during a global crisis, and I commend each and every one of you for staying the course. And to the families of our graduating class, I am deeply thankful for your commitment.

Though we cannot be physically together as a community for Commencement at the present time, I want to invite you to join us for a livestreamed celebration to honor the accomplishments and victories of the Class of 2020:

DATE: Saturday, May 23
TIME: 10:30 a.m. MT

Finally, we will continue to review plans for an eventual in-person Commencement for all our graduates and campus community, once conditions permit.

In the meantime, I look forward to virtually celebrating with you and your families on May 23.

Be safe and well.

Sincerely,
Mark Roosevelt
President, St. John’s College, Santa Fe
