Santa Fe Commencement 2023
St. John’s College, Santa Fe will hold its 56th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. on Weigle Placita. Join us in May to see our Class of 2023 undergraduate and graduate students receive their Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts.
Our Commencement speaker will be Sarah Davis, the Dean-Elect of St. John’s College, Santa Fe. Ms. Davis has been a tutor at St. John’s since 2012 and will become the Dean of the College this fall. She received her B.A. in Philosophy and Anthropology from Harvard University and her Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from Emory University. Ms. Davis was the recipient of the Condon Prize for Psychological Anthropology as well as The Marjorie Shostak Prize for Excellence and Humanity in Ethnographic Writing. Before becoming a tutor, Sarah worked for Time Magazine in Paris and American Heritage Magazine in New York, where she also opened and ran a pop-up DIY clothing design studio. We look forward to hearing her address to the Class of 2023!

Commencement is at 10:30 a.m. MT on Saturday, May 20, 2023 and will be held on Weigle Placita on the Santa Fe campus.
The ceremony will last approximately an hour and 15 minutes.
Commencement exercises will be held outside on Weigle Placita. Because of the intensity of the sun, we suggest that you wear sunscreen and/or sun protection. Water will be provided. The ceremony is rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors where restrictions to guests and seating may be necessary.
There will be a light reception following the ceremony.
In the case of severe weather, the Commencement Ceremony will be moved from Weigle Placita to inside the Student Activities Center gym. All degree candidates will be notified via email by the Friday evening before the ceremony should such a decision be made. If the Severe Weather Plan is implemented, the number of guests of graduating students may be restricted in order to comply with indoor capacity needs. The event will be livestreamed and recorded for future viewing, so guests who cannot take part in the live event can access our virtual link, which will be posted at the top of this page.

Congratulations, Class of 2023!
Campus parking will be available on a first come, first served basis in Lot A and along the main campus road as well as north of Lot A on Camino de Cruz Blanca. Additional overflow parking will be available on Saturday, May 20 at the Rio Grande School located at 715 Camino Cabra, a short walk to our campus and event venue. Van shuttles will be available on the morning of the ceremony to transport guests between Rio Grande School and St. John’s College.
Please note that Rio Grande School’s lot is also available for overflow parking on Friday, May 19, between 3–9 p.m.
