Athletics and Fitness

Are you a Druid, Greenwave, Guardian, Hustler, or Spartan?

Long predating Hogwarts, every Johnnie is automatically allocated to one of five long-standing intramural teams. Participation is voluntary and open to all, regardless of ability. Over 50% of students participate. The intramural program is one of the most distinctive and beloved aspect of social life at St. John’s.

Intercollegiate sports include crew, croquet, fencing, and sailing. One of the college’s most cherished traditions is the annual croquet match versus the United States Naval Academy. St. John’s competes at the National Collegiate Croquet Championships and holds more national titles than any other team in the league.
