St. John's College - Liberal Arts College in the Annapolis and Santa Fe
At St. John’s, the residential and academic experiences are inextricably linked. The shared adventure of living together and discussing great books together creates a community and friendships unlike any others. St. John’s is a residential community on two campuses in two historic capitals: Annapolis, Maryland, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Whether in Annapolis or Santa Fe, students live together on campus, immerse themselves in student groups, and study alongide each other in the coffeeshops, bookstores, and libraries. Both campuses have been ranked among the most beautiful in the country, and both cities named two of the best college towns. Students can transfer between the campuses over their four years.
Annapolis
On the cobblestone streets of historic Annapolis, just outside of Washington, DC and on the Chesapeake Bay, Johnnies embrace long-held traditions such as waltz parties, sailing, and the famous annual croquet match against the US Naval Academy. The college was founded here in 1696, and the city of Annapolis remains home to 500 students living among our rich history, great restaurants, cafes, bookstores, and groups like the college’s theatrical troupe, King William Players.

Santa Fe
The Santa Fe campus, in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, is the setting for some of the best hiking, art, live music, and scientific innovation in the United States, including the nearby Los Alamos National Laboratory. Johnnies embrace the stunning natural environment and rich cultural heritage of New Mexico while reading great books on the placita, skiing 12,000-foot mountains, sculpting in the pottery studio, competing in archery tournaments, or socializing in the coffee shop.
