A poor yet passionate young man falls in love with a rich young woman, giving her a sense of freedom, but they are soon separated because of their social differences. Directed by Nick Cassavetes and starring Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, Gena Rowlands, and James Garner, The Notebook is regarded as a modern classic. It received a number of award nominations, winning eight Teen Choice Awards, a Satellite Award, and an MTV Movie Award.
