The Bible is a tale of two cities: Jerusalem and Babylon. Jerusalem is where God descended, gave His life, and rescued humanity from sin. Jerusalem represents the Gospel. Babylon first appeared in Genesis when Nimrod, a descendant of Noah, established his kingdom there. It’s known for the Tower of Babel and came to represent every worldview opposing the Gospel. I’ll compare it to our culture’s prevalent worldview and suggest that we, like Daniel and Esther, live in “Babylon” today. How can one live a life of excellence in Babylon? This text focuses on this question.
