Second, we view this not from the perspective of scholars, but theatre practitioners. This book is born from our many productions of this play. We talk not only about what's being said, but also why it’s being said, what’s happening on stage, why Shakespeare included the scene in the play.

And unlike the “easy” editions of Shakespeare, this is not a substitute or a “translation.” It’s the Bard, as written.
