Alumni Reunion Events 2022: Frequently Asked Questions

As a result of improving COVID-19 conditions, this year St. John’s plans to host reduced capacity, in-person events on our campuses and virtual alumni experiences. While we are grateful that conditions have improved, we are now faced with a dilemma—campus space constraints and labor shortages do not allow for us to host all postponed and current reunion classes. Details about this decision can be found in the answers to frequently asked questions below. For other questions, please contact the Alumni Office at alumni(at)sjc.edu. We look forward to celebrating with you soon!

Will there be a homecoming this year?

We find ourselves in a unique situation this year. We are coming out of a major pandemic that led to postponed reunions for many classes. In addition, both campuses are undergoing major renovations to our campus buildings that will preclude our use of many of our usual spaces. Given these campus space constraints and supply-chain/labor shortages, the college is preparing to welcome alumni on campus this fall in the 10-, 25-, and 50-year reunion classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022. Instead of a traditional homecoming, the celebration of these postponed and current milestone classes will become a dedicated Reunion Weekend on each campus.

What will the COVID-19 protocols be?

We encourage you to take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and joyous celebration. For the safety of yourself and others, we ask you to bring your face mask and to take a COVID test prior to travel. For more details on campus policies, visit:

Why 10, 25, and 50th reunion classes only?

We know how devastating it has been to our 2020 and 2021 reunion classes to be unable to come together these past two years. Due to COVID-19, labor shortages, and campus space restrictions, the college cannot welcome back all 2020, 2021, and 2022 quinquennial (5-year) reunion classes. Many of our peer institutions have chosen to move on in their usual reunion rotation to 2022 classes and will not hold reunion celebrations for the missed 2020 and 2021 reunion classes. Rather, we are choosing to invite specific classes that are each at different stages in the alumni experience to ensure a strong and connective reunion experience to celebrate these milestones.

How can I find out who my class chair is and how can I get their contact information?
